Asterpix Makes Product Placement Stats In Online Videos Measurable

Product Placement in online video can work. Advertisers can pay video bloggers to include their products in their videos. The only problem I see is that it’s not very measurable. Sure, you can measure the number of views but not really the increase in traffic to an advertiser’s website.

I think that Asterpix may be the first step towards the solution to that. Users can easily embed links right into video clips. Here’s one that I did quickly to test it out (It’s mocking product placement in the “America’s Next Top Model” TV show).

*** Asterpix’s TOS state that the site is not to be used for commercial purposes but it also makes reference that authorized adertising is OK. So, I’m not too sure if paid product placement is actually OK with them. I sent an email to ask and waiting for a reply.
