How To Monetize Your Email Newsletters - Sell Sponsorships

Do you have an email newsletter that you send out to registered subscribers? Ever think about monetizing those newsletters? That’s always been difficult (until now). There’s never really been an online marketplace to buy and sell sponsorships for email newsletters and most people that offer these sponsorships sell them to advertisers directly. That’s really not an efficient way to sell ads.

This is why I included a category for email/newsletters in PlaceMyProduct.com. Aside from all the other ads you can sell on the site, there is a specific category for people that have a subscriber base for their email newsletters.

How do you include sponsorships in email newsletters? Be creative. Use your imagination. If you don’t have an imagination, here’s an example:

I subscribe to a newsletter from WebProNews. Their newsletters usually consist of a few popular articles. In between each article is an ad. Here’s a screenshot of one of the ads in WebProWorld’s newsletter:

Of course, use your imagination. An ad or sponsorship in an email newsletter can take many different forms.

The problem is everyone is getting so tech savvy these days and so skilled at recognizing ads that soon they will be unsubscribing for being spammed…

Point well taken though…

True Adrian, but there’s still a market for it. ADvertisers wouldn’t spend money on it without a return, and publishers wouldn’t include it in their email if it caused people to unsubscribe to the point of becoming unprofitable. There’s an equilibrium there somewhere.

Could be intersting. These adds, are they always relevant?
