Product placement may just well be the best form of advertising. It allows for the most creativity. Here are the 10 greatest product placements ever, some paid, some created just for humor:
- Duracell powered escalator:

- Welch’s Grape Juice Lickable Ads: Next time you’re at the doctor’s office and you see the person sitting across from you is licking his magazine, relax, it’s just a lickable ad for Welch’s Grape Juice. The magazine ads have taste strips for your taste buds:

- Lonely Girl15: Youtube phenomen, Lonelygirl15, signed a deal with Hershey’s to include a product placement for Icebreakers Sours in one of the episodes. Here’s the episode (The product placement occurs at about the 3:30 minute mark:

If my kids went to a school that had no ethics, cared so little for the health of its students that it would promote McDonalds crap just to earn a buck, I’ve whisk ‘em out of there so fast their feet wouldn’t touch the ground.
I had no idea that such unethical practices existed in schools in the States. In the UK, the emphasis is on trying to stop our kids becoming morbidly obese, not encouraging it.
(Carefully, clamber down from soap box;-)
OK, I’d better confess… I don’t actually have any kids, but the principle still applies;-D
I agree with you. WTF? Ads on report cards? But it still is quite funny to see.
That was some pretty messed up product placement. McD’s on Report Cards is still pretty great to look at. George Bush’s Dell Computer TV slip was funny.
