Product placement may just well be the best form of advertising. It allows for the most creativity. Here are the 10 greatest product placements ever, some paid, some created just for humor:

Creative Bube Tube did a little promotional video for Place My Product Dot Com. The goal was to show people that it is possible to sell ads, sponsorships, and product placements directly if you produce videos for YouTube.
Count the number of product placements in this interview:
Here’s the list of product placements appearing in the video:
None of the above paid to be in the video, but they could have. We just wanted to show a quick few examples of how you can make money by selling ads and product placements in YouTube videos. Of course, if you produce videos for YouTube, you could do even better. Just use your imagination for ways to place ads in your videos and auction it off to the highest bidder on www.PlaceMyProduct.com.
**Note: If you plan to auction off a product placement in a Youtube video, email Tino to put you on the Place My Product Dot Com homepage.
Product Placement in online video can work. Advertisers can pay video bloggers to include their products in their videos. The only problem I see is that it’s not very measurable. Sure, you can measure the number of views but not really the increase in traffic to an advertiser’s website.
I think that Asterpix may be the first step towards the solution to that. Users can easily embed links right into video clips. Here’s one that I did quickly to test it out (It’s mocking product placement in the “America’s Next Top Model” TV show).
*** Asterpix’s TOS state that the site is not to be used for commercial purposes but it also makes reference that authorized adertising is OK. So, I’m not too sure if paid product placement is actually OK with them. I sent an email to ask and waiting for a reply.
You would think that companies that pay for product placement would want their brands shown in a positive way and definitely not the punchline in a joke. Well, it’s good to see that some companies (Verizon Wireless) don’t mind their products spoken about satirically. See this clip from the television show, 30 Rock, to see what I mean:
Product Placement satire started with Wayne’s World and now has evolved to the point where paid product placement is OK with satire.
Verizon paid 30 Rock a fee as well as a promotion on Verizon’s website for the product placement.
