Top Causes of Female Hair Loss

by Sarah Rowe

There are many people today who still believe that only men can suffer from hair loss. Yet research has now shown that one in four women are also likely to suffer from some form of hair loss at some point during their lives. Below we will take a look at the three most common reasons as to what causes hair loss in women around the world today.

1. Female Pattern Baldness - Of all the kinds of hair loss problems women can suffer from this is the most common and is exactly the same type that men suffer from. As with men, woman will suffer from this particular hair loss problem when their body reacts to the male hormone testosterone that is naturally found in their body.

What happens is that testosterone, which women have small amounts of in their bodies, converts into DHT, which then affects hair growth. Although female pattern baldness may start later in life for a woman, and not be as extreme as in men because of the female hormones they have, it is still the same condition as that which men suffer from and is known as male pattern baldness.

2. Telogen Effluvium - This is the second most common type of hair loss problem for women today. But it is different from the above mentioned as rather than hair being lost completely from the scalp; this will cause hair thinning.

In a large number of cases where women suffer from this particular hair loss condition, it is because they have suffered some kind of traumatic event in their lives. This will usually have placed considerable stress on their body, which has prevented hair from growing normally. Women who become pregnant may often be shocked to notice that their hair begins to thin after child birth. Once things start to settle down, it can normally be expected that hair growth will resume as normal.

3. Alopecia Areata - This is the 3rd most common type of hair loss women can suffer from today. But rather than the problem being localized and affecting one particular area of the scalp, this one results in hair loss on various different parts of the scalp.

In the majority of cases where women are suffering from this type of hair loss disease, is related to their immune system being deficient. Certainly, it is quite common to see women who are undergoing or have undergone some form of cancer treatment to suffer from this kind of hair loss. Although for most women once their immune system returns to normal they will discover that hair begins to grow once more. Some women, one the other hand, may find if the condition is severe enough that the hair does not grow back.

It is important that women understand fully what causes hair loss in women in order that they can treat it effectively should it happen to them. If you at any stage feel, you may be suffering from a hair loss problem you should start looking for ways to stop your hair loss and to re grow your hair.

Top Cause Of Female Hair Loss

by Sarah Rowe

There are a number of different reasons for why a woman may find that she starts to lose her hair. Yet although some women do suffer from hair loss, it is not to the same extent that men do. In this article, we look at one reason that is the cause of female hair loss and is the most common.

Yet even though we still think that hair loss is predominantly a male problem, today quite a few women are likely to suffer from some form of serious hair loss. In fact, according to the American Academy of Dermatology around 30 million women in the United States alone are troubled with hair loss of one sort or another.

For some women the reason that they start to lose hair is because of their genetic makeup. This kind of hair loss comes down to the way that the hormones known as androgens in their body interfere with the natural processes. The hormones, which make up this particular group, are androstenedione, testosterone and Dihydrotestosterone or DHT. All of which both men and women produce, but a woman’s amounts are much smaller than those produced by a man’s are.

Although all women have this hormone in their bodies, when it is able to connect with a particular enzyme it can then convert easily into Dihydrotestosterone (DHT). This then binds itself to the woman’s hair follicle receptors and starts to interfere with the growth of hair on her body.

Generally, this build up of DHT on the hair follicles takes some time so a woman will only see a gradual increase in their hair loss. The build up also causes the hair follicles to shrink and so the pattern for natural hair growth in a person begins to alter. Often as this happens, a woman is likely to notice that they are beginning to suffer from female pattern baldness or androgenic alopecia if you wish to use its medical name.

Even though the cause of this form of baldness in women is much the same way as it is in men, the pattern of the baldness is different. With women their baldness will be somewhat diffused and generally occurs as a thinning of the hair on top of the scalp. On the other hand men will normally start to lose hair completely from specific areas of the head, namely at the crown or around the temple or at the back.

In addition, the other difference with this particular kind of hair loss in women compared to men is that in men not only is it related to their genetic makeup but also to their age. With women, however this particular form of hair loss can be suffered at any stage of their lives and may well be caused by some other underlying medical condition.

Along with the above, there are other reasons as to what is the cause of female hair loss in women. For some women the cause may be from some kind of medical condition. Whilst the cause for others may have been because a traumatic event has taken place in their lives and considerable stress has been placed on their bodies.

How To Monetize Your Blog

There are many ways to monetize your blog these days. Some are good. Some are not. The normal way to do it is through ad networks that will automatically place the ads on your blog (which doesn’t require much work from you, you just add the code they give you to your blog) or to sell ads direct.

Selling direct ads takes more work. You need to actually find advertisers yourself. That’s, partly, the reason that I started PlaceMyProduct.com; it provides a marketplace to sell ads without actually searching and negotiating with advertisers directly. You just provide an offer of what type of ad you have available, where it will be placed, and for how long. Then it goes to the highest bidder. We provide the payment processing. You just sit back and wait for the bids.

You can auction off absolutely any type of ad, sponsorship, or product placement on Place My Product Dot Com. It could be a banner ad, a text ad, a sponsored review, an overlay, or, even, a combination. It could be a one-month ad, a two-month ad, or even a permanent ad.

But the best reason to use Place My Product Dot Com is to sell non-standard ads, sponsorships, or product placements. This is a little tougher to come up with ideas for. Just use your imagination. Keep an eye on our own ad sales page for PlaceMyProduct.com for ideas. We’ll normally have multiple auctions running at any given time for both standard and non-standard advertising opportunities on the site.

PlaceMyProduct.com Launches Today

PlaceMyProduct.comToday is the official launch of PlaceMyProduct.com.

What does Place MyProduct.com do? It is, simply, an auction marketplace to sell your ad inventory to the highest bidder. It could be an advertisement, a sponsorship, a product placement.

Create a profile. And your auctions take place on your profile page. All current and future auctions take place on the exact same page. You can even post a wideget (See the top-right of this blog) that will automatically link to your auctions as you post them.

Why sell ads by auction rather than use an online ad network? Simply put, you’ll make more money. For example, take an ad block that you have on your website or blog and see how much money you earned from it in the previous month. Then, figure out how much you need to start your auction at to make the same amount of money from an auctioned ad as you did via the ad network. Then, create an auction and start the auction at that amount. It’s free to post an auction so there’s nothing to lose. If you get just one bid, you will earn as much as you did in the previous month. If you get more than one bid, you will earn more.

Unlike an ad network, YOU decide what shape or form the ad takes. It doesn’t need to be a standard banner ad or text link ad. It could, but it doesn’t have to. This is where you can get creative. And, it can be for a time period that you choose. You can auction a 1-week ad, a 1-month ad, a 2-month ad, a permanent ad; it’s totally up to you.

Examples of Ads, sponsorships, or product placements that could be auctioned on PlaceMyProduct.com:

  • Banner ads: The most traditional of online ads
  • Text Link Ads: Another mature market
  • Site Or Blog Sponsorships: Something that you could really get creative with
  • Product Placement In Online Video Or Podcasts: This is great, especially if you’re a popular Youtube video producer. You may have heard that Paris Hilton received just $5,000 in ad-sharing revenue from Youtube for 25 million views in a three month period. With that type of audience you should earn way more. But how? Try product placement. Product placement could be anything from mentions to an actual physical product in the video, something like this Mahalo Daily trailer. Spot the Diet Coke in front of Jason Calacanis? This isn’t really a product placement since Diet Coke really didn’t pay for it. But it, just as well, could have been. And, it could have been auctioned on PlaceMyProduct.com. ** If you don’t want to watch the video, here’s a screenshot:

  • Podcast Sponsorships: How do you make money on podcast sponsorships? Speaking of Calacanis, he had the right idea in this blog post, except that it’s much more efficient to auction it off to the highest bidder. And, you can still donate the proceeds to charity!

Those are just a few examples of making money online by selling ads by auction. Of course this applies to all ads, sponsorships, and product placements, even offline. Some examples: ads in a community newspaper, kids soccer team sponsorship, billboard ads, radio spots… This post has No Rating

McDonald’s Product Placement In School Report Cards

The day that advertising makes it’s way into school report cards is the day that you can find advertising everywhere.

Today is that day!

Seminole County Public Schools allowed McDonald’s to place their product into their kids’ report cards. McDonald’s message reads, “McDonald’s restaurants in Seminole County are proud supporters of various academic programs throughout Seminole County, Florida.”

Perhaps the ad revenue generated via report cards removes the need to hold bake sales to raise money for the schools!

Here’s a sample report card via AdvertisingAge:
